Pettenasco<\/b> is a village <\/span>in the area of Novara<\/b>, in Piedmont, overlooking <\/span>Lake Orta<\/b>. Precisely, this village is located in-between Orta San Giulio and Omegna. Despite being a small municipality, Pettenasco vaunts <\/span>significant historical roots<\/b> and<\/span> activities that are suitable for any tourist<\/b>. North to the Medieval Village, then, you find <\/span>Punta Crabbia<\/b>, one of the most famous promontories in the area. There, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Lake from Omegna to Orta.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n With its 1376 inhabitants,<\/span> Pettenasco<\/b> history dates back to the <\/span>Ancient Romans<\/b>. This latter could dominate this territory in the past, as some graves present in the area testify. The hypothesis of the Roman presence finds its justification in the legend of <\/span>Saint Giulio<\/b>\u2019s life, which tells the story of prefect <\/span>Audentius<\/b>, who lived in this area around the 4th century A.D.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>Middle Ages<\/b> is the historical era that has impacted the history of <\/span>Pettenasco <\/b>the most. It is still possible to find several <\/span>dwellings <\/b>of that time, presenting <\/span>stone portals engraved<\/b> with several decorations. Among these dwellings, the mansion which is best-preserved is the<\/span> Casa Medioevale<\/b> (Medieval House), at Piazza Unit\u00e0 d’Italia.\u00a0 The cultural association Pro Loco Pettenasco Nostra manages Casa Medievale. The organization offers exhibitions, concerts, and <\/span>kermesse<\/span><\/i> reunions in the court and rooms of Casa Medioevale.<\/span><\/p>\n Besides the remains of <\/span>Saint Audentius Church <\/b>and the <\/span>Parish of Saint Audentius and Catherine<\/b>, windmills are worth visiting when in <\/span>Pettenasco<\/b>. These latter represent the agricultural nature that the town had in the past, as they were used to grind flour.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Later, windmills turned into <\/span>hydraulic plumbings<\/b> used by <\/span>woodturners<\/b> to manufacture crafts to sell: this activity lasted until the end of the fifties. Today, these woodturners and, in particular, the one on the Roggia Molinara welcomes the <\/span>Museum on the<\/b> Art of Woodturning<\/b>, where one can admire the tools of the trade.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Concerning the activities that Pettenasco offers for tourists, they can choose among several beaches on the lake.
